GARDENS OPEN do come and visit the Gardens of Duntreath Castle
Youth /Schools Olympic Garden Competition -
Local schools and children's organisations are invited to create a container garden of plants to celebrate the Olympic Games. Julia Donaldson famous for the 'Gruffalo' Stories will be judging the Youth Competition on Friday 15th June , and would welcome Schools coming and meeting her between 1pm and 3pm, when they bring their Container Gardens for Judgeing.
Gardening Talks & Cookery Demonstrations -
Steve Brookes BBC Gardening Presenter and Author will be speaking on both days at 10.30am and 2.30pm on 'The Greatest Gardening Tips in the World' . Other speakers are being arranged for the weekend.
S.A.F.A.S. Floral Art Displays & Demonstrations.
Visit the SAFAS Marquee where they will be displaying and Demonstrating the art of Flower arranging.
Silent Auction -
A very wide range of lots will be available throughout the Garden Show for visitors to bid on. All our lots will be sold without reserve by the time the Show closes on the Sunday under the careful scrutiny of the Glasgow Rotary Club .
The Tea Garden -
Afternoon homemade teas will be provided in the Tea Garden from 2.00pm to 5.00pm at just £3.00 for Tea/Coffee & Cake.
BBC Radio will we hope broadcast live from Duntreath Castle Charity Garden Show.
Garden & Gift Stalls.
- Everything from plants and garden lamps to jewellery and fashion accessories will be available from our trade stands.
Refreshments
Hot and Cold refreshments will be available all day including Grill -- Pimms & Beer Bar - Ice Cream.
Bands & Entertainment.
Entertainment will be provided during the weekend by various Bands
Other activities and attractions are being added all the time including a Children's Corner as we feel this is an Event for Families.,
Tickets & Opening Times
Entry Fee - Adults £8.00. Children under 15 - Free.
No concessions except advanced bookings. If you wish to bring a Group of 20 or more you can book Group Tickets before 30th April at £5 each but sorry only MINI BUSES no Coaches.. We can only accomodate Mini Buses at this event - Sorry no Coaches.
The Duntreath Castle Charity Garden Show will be open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
Other Information
Disabled Access is possible in the Gardens but is limited in some areas, particularly around the lake. There may be quite a long distance from the Car Parks to the Gardens and Trade Stand Area but an area for Disabled Badge Car Parking is available.
Dogs - Well behaved dogs are allowed in the Gardens on leads. Please be a responsible dog owner and do not leave them in a car, whatever the weather.
Picnics - These are only allowed in the car park areas. Please ensure that you take your litter home with you and respect that Duntreath Castle is a private residence.
